What size
dish do I need?
The size dish
you need depends on the satellite you are trying to obtain signal from.
For example, the Galaxy 25 satellite, you will need at least a 75cm 30"
/ 31 inch
dish. For a satellite like AMC4 you can use a 60cm (dish.
For most of the Echostar or DirecTV satellites, you will need a 46cm
(18") dish.
Always look at
a satellite footprint to determine the size of dish you need. You
can go to
Lyngsat and click on the
satellite name you want to get signal from. Then choose which
band. Usually, what you broadcasts on Ku band. Once you
choose the band, look at the chart on the right hand side and compare
the dB to what's on the map. This should give you a good
indication of what size dish you need to get the proper signal.
