FAQ about installing multiple receivers on 1 dish or multiple TV's on 1
receiver:
Q:
I want to install 2 receivers. What type of splitter do I need?
A:
A satellite signal can not be split before it reaches the satellite
receiver. If you like to install two satellite receivers, you must use
a dual LNB.
A dual LNBF installs on your satellite dish and two cables are ran from the
LNB to your digital FTA receivers. Check out the
diagram
below:

Q:
I want to install satellite on 3 or 4 satellite receivers. What should
I do?
A:
There are two different ways of installing satellite on three or four
receivers. Option #1 below is recommended over option #2. It may
cost a few extra dollars for option #1, but the two parts work independently
and can be modified in any way.
1. You can use a
3X4 multi switch along with a
dual LNB.
You MUST use a
dual LNBF when you install a multi switch. Otherwise, you will
only receive channels that broadcast on Vertical or Horizontal transponders.
See below for the 3X4 multi switch installation. (Check
out our multi-switch section) If you are NOT using
an antenna or cable source, you do not need to use the diplexers shown in
the diagram.

2. You can use a
quad
LNBF. Basically, same as dual LNB installation above, but not
recommended. Option #1 above is much more recommended.
Q:
I want to install my satellite system on two TV's, but don't want to have a
second receiver. What should I do?
A:
You can use a splitter. Yes, you can use a splitter on a satellite
system ONLY when the satellite signal has gotten processed and decompressed
through the satellite receiver. See diagram below. Take into
consideration that when you run any signal through a splitter, you will have
some loss. You will also only be able to watch the same programming as
the master (1st) TV.

Q:
Does this receiver accept access cards?
A:
No. A Free To Air receiver does not need to
have the function of accepting access cards because the need for an access
card is to subscribe to channels that are scrambled or encrypted.
