Do you want
to add more channels to your
Ku band satellite system?
The first
thing you have to do is to figure out how you will capture satellite
signals from additional satellites and send them to your digital
MPEGII DVB
satellite receiver or
USB DVB box
or PCI Card.
-The first and most popular way to add more channels to your satellite
system is to get a
satellite
motor along with a
90cm (36" / 36inch) satellite dish antenna. You can use a
76cm (30" 30 inch)
dish along with a
Standard Ku band LNB, but it's not highly recommended to use a
30" dish. It's always recommended
to go with a slightly larger dish when you use a
motor to make sure you can hit all or
most of the
satellites. Basically, if you use a
DiSEqC1.2
receiver, the DiSEqC 1.2 command will control the motor and no
additional wiring is required (See
HH motor diagram). Once installed properly & based on your
latitude, the motor will turn and track the satellite arc and will
obtain signal from many of the different satellites. If you don't
already have a FTA Ku band satellite system, you can choose a
motorized system by
clicking
here. You can get help installing a dish motor by going
here.
-The second option, and specially if you only need
2 or 3 satellites that are
between 5 and 14 degrees of each other, then a
LNB bracket
/ LNB holder
may be the best way to go. Our
LNBF Brackets are designed to install
on any type of dish. It can be used on DirecTV type dishes.
Click Here to see picture. Lock in your signal, (Use a
SF-95 signal finder to help lock in your signal) then you need to
combine the signal for both satellites using either a
2X1 or 4X1 DiSEqC
Switch.
DiSEqC diagram.
-The third option is very similar to the second option above, but you
use a totally different
satellite dish
antenna. With this option, you can mount a second dish at a
different location or even close to your first dish, point and obtain
your satellite signal using a
SF-95 signal finder to help lock in your signal, and then combine
the two satellite signals with a
2X1 or 4X1 DiSEqC
Switch.
DiSEqC diagram. With this option, you are not limited to a
minimum or maximum distance between the two satellites. As long as
you can lock to the satellite, you can make it work.
